Open Question: '98 Chevy Truck A/C issues. I've replaced the compressor & now the fan only seems to work when on low?

Is this part of the same problem or something different? Compressor seems to be working fine & there's no freon leak so I'm not sure of what to do next. The fan blower sounds as if it's on - you can distinguish low from medium & high - but the air is not being forced into the cab of the truck. I've also tried replacing the resistor but it seemed to make no difference in the fan speed. Please help me if you can. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Open Question: Should I enlist to have a better shot at becoming an Air Force Aviator?

Here is my situation. I am a college graduate attempting to obtain a coveted OTS pilot slot. I currently have 25 hrs of flight time (work two jobs to pay for flight time), volunteer with the volunteer flame dept when I have time, and am attempting to become a guardian for the Honor Flight. I have two predicaments, though. My college gpa was only a 2.75 and I am already 26 years old (27 in April). I was scheduled to take the AFOQT after a month of study, but my recruiter cancelled the test the day before on account of the rated boards being pushed back. My question is, should I enlist and apply for pilot slot after being in the service already. I hear OTS selections for civilians currently is around 10%, but at 80% with people aleady in. Or, should I attempt to crush the AFOQT and wish I can overcome my low GPA. Side note: 94 ASVAB / 6/6/6 51 ASTB Thanks for the timely and honest responses!

I know I'll do well on the ASVAB, but What can I do to receive my recruiter to give me a guaranteed career field of Tactical Air Command and Control? Because I DONT want to receive stuck with any bad jobs...

Open Question: How to handle a friend/ex-gf who is flirting with me after finally admitting she was raped?

So this girl I dated about 2 years ago suddenly started texting me again about a week ago. We had talked every now and then since we broke up, but it was a bad break and she has been in a relationship. It hardly came as a surprise we broke up though, considering at the time I had severe depression and she has been bipolar for years. Well after just chatting for a few days I asked her how she'd been handling her bipolar disease... and she suddenly stopped texting for a little while (a few hours). Then she sent me a link to a blog she had written today, asking not to tell any of her friends, and that I should have known about this and she was sorry she didn't tell me when we were dating but the guy had just been caught. She had been raped 2 years before WE had started dating (which started every her mental illnesses) and the guy threatened to kill her family if she had told anyone. Obviously this was a bit of an overload for me, but she still seemed distraught about finally writing every of this stuff down and revealing it to someone she knows. Evidently only her family, her boyfriend, and myself know about this now. I asked how she was handling it and she said she was still shaking, so I told her that guy is a **** who doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as her, she's a wonderful girl who has lots of good friends who care a lot about her, and I'm sure her boyfriend tells her the same thing. She said thanks and agreed that he does, but she says she feels like it's forced now. I told her she can always talk to me at any rate and since then we haven't brought the topic up again. We've been having random conversations, and she's using tons of smileys and talking to me every the time. She's sent me two pictures of herself smiling at her camera (not inappropriate). While bored I told her I took a quiz at work to 'name every 151 original pokemon' and joked the girls will just flock in when they hear my score. She told me she's impressed, and she definitely would! And then 10 minutes later added 'well if I was single anyway...' I'm not sure if she's leaning on me for emotional support (totally ok with especially now) or if she's suggesting that I try to supplant her boyfriend. She is texting me 300 times a day, we share pictures through our phone every now and then (never used to do that), and she seems to be hinting she's unhappy with her boyfriend. How do I handle this?

theres a back to school dance this saturday, like 3 days. I'm a senior and i like a freshman, i know its odd but im very mature and am not looking just to hit it and quit it. I'm in the air force reserves and if i receive a girl prego its disqualifying so i wont take the chance. Anyways, a junior i think may have asked her to the dance and shes super excited for it, so i think she may like him and that would suck. I planned on going to the dance with a group of my friends so i may just look out for her and talk to the junior and say she better have a good time or something and wish she doesnt receive treated bad. the only class we have together is p.e. because i go to a tiny school, i also have some freshman friends who can possibly help me receive to her. So what can i do to show interest but not too strong? idk how to do this with me being a senior and in the military.

Open Question: In the interest of tollerance for the Ground Zero Mosque how about?

Is it true that the idea of a mosque close Ground Zero is to promote tolerance? Well, it has been suggested that a gay nightclub be opened next door to the mosque. Two names proposed for the club are;"The Turban Cowboy" & "You Mecca Me Hot". A life size statue of Mohammed will be prominently displayed in front of the bar. On the other side should be a butcher store specializing in pork. Across the road, a store that sells and displays ladies lingerie and bikinis on live models, adding a sex store would be a possibility as well as a pornographic book store. This would every be legal according to zoning. And for every of you real Marine, Army, Navy, Air Force types- how about a recruiting headquarters across the road? Now go forth and promote tolerance.

I know that he carried a copy of the Qur'an in the pocket of his camouflaged trousers and faithfully performed his daily prayers (salawāt) in private. Sergeant Ali was an outstanding Marine. In 2007-2008, I had the pleasure of working with Adnan Siraj, Senior Engineering Manager at a pharmaceutical manufacturing company here in the San Diego area. Adnan, who was also a devout Muslim, always kept his office door open except for when he performed his salawāt. Adnan Siraj and Ali were honest, considerate, caring, unselfish, cooperative, responsible, courteous, and respectful American citizens. According to Marine Gunnery Sergeant Jamal Baadani, founder of the Association of Patriotic Arab-Americans in the Military (APAAM), there are at least 15,000 American Muslims currently in uniform. When I enlisted in the Corps, I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against every enemies, foreign and domestic. Many American Muslims have also taken this oath. Several have fought and died in defense of the principles enumerated in the US Constitution. The graves of fallen Muslim soldiers and veterans are located in military cemeteries throughout the United States to include Hassein Ahmed (US Army, WWII), Ibrahim Muhammad (US Navy, WWII), Mahir Hasan (US Army, Korea) and Abul Fateh Umar Khan (US Air Force, Korea) just to name a few. A cylindrical oil-storage tank (D = 120 ft) has a vent to the atmosphere to allow air to move in or out as the tank is filled or emptied. This vent is plugged by snow in a blizzard while the oil is being pumped out of the tank, and the gauge pressure in the tank falls to -1 psig ( = 1 psi vacuum). Open Question: If I join Air Force ROTC what benefits do I get?

Let's say I'm in college or im about to go to college. If I join Air force ROTC and score ~1800 on my SAT, and have a G.P.A of 3.6 cumulative, do I receive my college paid for? Then after I finish college, I will have to serve the air force for four years right? I look the pay chart for Air Force members, and I'm confused. Do I receive paid for serving in the air force AND receive my college paid? Do I receive a monthly stipend too during college?

My husband and I want to join the Air Force at the same time, but we are a little skeptical about our chances of getting stationed at the same base. I have been told to have the same job and that will make it easier. And then I was told the opposite, we should have different jobs. So I'm really confused and I need help! Thanks!

(I'm recovering from overuse injuries) My mom is into political science and is getting her phd. I guess partially because because of her German upbringing she is opposed to the military. And strongly. I heard no end of it for weeks after joining ROTC. My dad used to be a bit of a redneck what with owning 14 guns... I'm wanting to be a pilot or combat rescue officer in the Air Force and thought also airsoft would tutor me the fundamentals of shooting and gun safety. Since we are covering the spanish american war in school I purchased battlefield 1942. After a lot of work I created a modification to make a span am game. My mom flipped out. In short she said with disgust that if I was going to receive into the military and shooting what with airsoft I may as well learn to handle the real thing and receive rid of this pretend reality provided (obviously) I shoot only at targets or hunt. I don't want to hunt. Christmas is coming up. I'm a pretty stable individual and am looking into some options. I have narrowed it down to a Schmidt and Rubin k-31 straight tug, Mosin Nagant 91/30, or a yugoslavian SKS. The K-31 and 91/30 are bolt action 5 round. The yugo is semi car with a 10 round mag. Needless to say not exactly assault weapons. I have no intention of keeping my gun in the home. Technically it would be my dads anyway. Is this a reasonable arrangement or is using a gun at 14 for recreational purposes developmentally inappropriate and what legal arrangements must be made?

Open Question: Rank and pay grade in the US Air Force?

Now I was wondering when I go to basic training, will my rank be E-1 and upgrade to E-3 after I graduate? I don't want to sign the contract if I start with E-1 and stay there when I have the college credits to start with a higher rank. THe contract being shown to me states I will enter basic training with the E-1 rank. Please tell me when I graduate, it upgrades.

Open Question: Why Do Some Soldiers Never Get Deployed?

For the term Soldier, I mean Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard etc. It is simply easier to stick to one term. No disrespect meant, if you find that there is some. I am with the military community as a civilian and have known men and women who have been deployed anywhere from 3 to 6 times since our 'lovely' war has started. I have known military members who have been in the military for 30+ years and have been deployed to the war zone, or been stationed in Europe or Asia for most of their military careers. I have also met military members who have never been deployed to a war zone or been stationed in an entirely different continent and/or country. Some of these military members have been in 30+ years and have never left the U.S! I do not understand how these people 'receive out of' going overseas/being deployed, when other men and women spend the majority of their careers outside of the U.S and much of their careers in a war zone. Do enlighten me. =)

Open Question: Required to fill out a FAFSA?

Hi everyone, I am currently an AFROTC cadet at a university. I successfully completed every of the requirements to contract, and receive scholarship money. In the spring my detachment gave the paperwork to pay the school the full amount of my tuition after I paid tuition in full out of pocket last year, this way I could basically be reimbursed and receive a refund check in the amount of tuition. I was waiting for the school to call or send something in the mail saying I had a refund check waiting for me, but i haven't heard. So i checked into it, and I am just now being told that they wouldn't process it to my student account because I did not fill out a FAFSA form. I have never filled out a FAFSA because I have always paid out of pocket for my schooling. I have also received a scholarship at another college without having to do anything like this, it was just applied to my student account. So, as far as I know, the Air Force has paid the school a lump sum of a semester's tuition, and the school failed to contact my detachment or myself about any type of eligibility issues. So basically the school kept a semester's tuition which should rightfully be mine by no fault of my possess... What can I do to receive my money??

He made me fill out some information about myself and he made me give him my driver's license for copies and stuff like that. I like the Air Force, but something is telling me I should be a Marine. My date of separation is June 18th, and that will be the end of my health benefits. I am originally from Michigan but when i receive out i'll be moving to Texas, to join my husband. I am a recent college grad whose dad was in the Air Force for 20 years. I have been debating joining the Army, but have a few questions concerning officer life. It seems every the information I find about the Army is slightly on the negative side, however I was curious if life in the Army really is so bad for commissioned officers?
